Protecting Your Membership

AAA Requires ID Checks at the Roadside
AAA Mid States

Delivering a high-quality experience to our AAA members is of the utmost importance. We want to ensure you are receiving the timely, quality service you and other members expect. That’s why a roadside technician will ask to see your photo ID upon arrival to verify you are the covered member. This step helps prevent someone else from taking advantage of your paid membership.

AAA services more than 33 million motorists per year and, according to the 2014-2017 AAA US Market Track national surveys, AAA arrives almost 20 minutes faster than our competitors. We are America’s largest club organization and beat all other major roadside assistance providers in customer satisfaction.

AAA membership benefits are exclusive to the named cardholder, and members are covered in any car – whether the driver or passenger. However, AAA benefits do not extend to family or friends who are not AAA members who may drive your car without you present, regardless of who owns the vehicle. In this case, you may want to consider adding your spouse or children to your membership as an associate member.

The requirement of checking photo IDs at the roadside helps protect our members and the value of your AAA memberships. The next time you request roadside assistance whether through the AAA mobile app or by calling 1-800-AAA-HELP, please remember that your roadside technician will ask to see your ID upon arrival as a safeguard to protecting you and your membership.

As always, AAA Southern Pennsylvania wishes you safe travels and is committed to being there for you when you need us most.
