21 Must Have Items for Your Car
Taking care of your car is important, but in an emergency, taking care of yourself is even more vital. To be a prepared driver always carry your AAA membership card, and equip your vehicle with an emergency kit that contains some or all the following items:
- Flashlight with extra batteries *
- Road flares or reflective triangles *
- Jumper cables *
- Cell phone & charging cord
- General first aid kit *
- Rags or paper towels *
- Bungee cord
- Gallon jug of water / bottled water
- Blanket and extra set of warm clothes
- Winter formula window washer solvent
- De-icer for door locks
- Non-clumping kitty litter / traction sand
- Ice-scraper, snow brush and snow shovel
- Tire chains
- Emergency poncho *
- Basic toolset *
- Waterproof matches and emergency candles
- Roll of duct tape *
- Cutting device (box cutter / pocket knife)
- Gloves with dimples *
- Snack food including energy bars
