Recognized for its pristine beaches, magnificent waterfalls, lush greenery and eye-popping floral colors, Hawaii is, in itself, a spectacle to be had. Even repeat visitors continue to marvel at the hidden wonders delicately tucked away throughout the Hawaiian Islands.

But shopping, culinary and entertainment-based options are also ever-present.

Thanks to the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau, here are a few new developments for vacationers to consider in 2016.

  • The recently-developed 808 Center is Honolulu’s newest three-story restaurant and entertainment complex. Located in the heart of the city, and a 10-minute walk from Ala Moana Shopping Center, 808 Center features 11 dining options, two full-service salons, and a karaoke entertainment center.
  • Ai Love Nalo is a new vegan restaurant that’s located in Waimanalo on Oahu.
  • The Beach Club at Mauna Kea Beach Hotel is now offering Glow SUP, a unique ocean experience for all ages. Guests can stand-up paddle on the peaceful evening waters of Kaunaoa Bay, stargaze and enjoy views of ocean life via LED lights that illuminate the water up to 15 feet around the boat and five feet beneath it.
  • In celebration of its 100th anniversary in 2016, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is offering monthly centennial-themed After Dark in the Park programs that provide information about the park’s history. Talks are offered on a selected Tuesday night each month.
  • Piiholo Zipline is offering a new seven-line Treetop Zip Tour that begins high above Kahakapao Valley and zips from tree-to-tree.
  • Overlooking Waikiki Beach, SKY Waikiki is Honolulu’s newest rooftop bistro and lounge. Located on the 19th floor of the Waikiki Business Plaza, the 7,000-square-foot restaurant offers handcrafted cocktails and a menu created by award-winning executive chef Lance Kosaka.
  • Oahu’s Ala Moana Center, the world’s largest outdoor shopping center, recently welcomed Hawaii’s first Bloomingdale’s department store, along with more than 30 other new stores, as part of the center’s Ewa Wing expansion.
  • The Honolulu Coffee Experience Center, which opened in October 2015 at the gateway to Waikiki, offers the world’s only multi-dimensional Kona coffee experience from farm to cup. At the center of the facility’s open floor-plan design is a vintage roaster where visitors can see active roasting taking place. The Cupping Room features see-through glass walls where guests can observe coffee being evaluated and certified baristas participating in daily training sessions.
